Cigars, Championships, and Celebrating Greatness

This past weekend I was able to witness one of the best moments in basketball as a team celebrated its championship victory. Later, when the cameras moved into the locker room, I saw players smoking cigars as they embraced teammates, coaches, and family members. It reminded me of something that has been true for generations:

Cigars and victories go hand in hand.

I still remember seeing Michael Jordan with a cigar in his mouth after winning a championship. That image became iconic—not because of the cigar itself, but because of what it represented. Years of sacrifice. Endless practice. Overcoming adversity. Reaching the top of the mountain.

The cigar was simply the exclamation point at the end of the story.
